LOCAL supermarket operator Terry Burn got the phone call that every business owner dreads.
A staff member called the King Creek local with the news that his supermarket had been robbed.
The King Creek IGA store was robbed on Sunday night by thieves who have left Mr Burn thousands of dollars out of pocket.
Using the public toilet block to gain access to the supermarket, the brazen robbers took the surveillance system before stealing an undisclosed amount of cash as well as thousands of dollars worth of cigarettes, spirits and other items.
It is the third robbery to occur at the King Creek store but it has left the biggest impact with costs expected to reach upwards of $50,000.
For Mr Burn the attack has left him searching for answers and he wants justice.
“I'm absolutely gutted,” he said.
"These dole bludging pricks have just taken everything I've worked so hard for.
“I've had enough of this crap, where’s the justice?”
The robbery has forced Mr Burn to close the public toilets that are at the side of the store where the thieves broke in.
"It's just not worth the risk,” he said.
"It’s the actions of these idiots that have left us no choice.
“We didn’t have to provide that facility and now we won’t be because it’s too risky.”
The supermarket was closed for trading on Monday as phone lines had to be reinstalled and the store cleaned up.
The security system that was stolen was valued at around $6000 and the thieves accessed the store by car which was parked at an adjacent property.
Mr Burn is appealing to anyone who might have some information to contact him or the police.
“I encourage anyone who has heard anything that might help to get in touch.”
“If you have seen something suspicious or know anything we would like to know.
“Any help or information is valuable no matter how small it might seem.”
The police and detectives arrived on the scene on Monday morning and dusted for fingerprints.
Investigations are continuing.
