VOLUNTEERS are set to paint the town yellow tomorrow for Daffodil Day.
The streets will be full of shades of yellow as more than 20 volunteers help raise funds for the Cancer Council.
There will be a stall from 8am to 2pm in front of the Hastings Co-Op Supa IGA on Friday with merchandise and fresh daffodils for sale.
Daffodils can also be purchased from Hastings Fruit & Veg, Top Takeaway, 5 Star Handymart, Five Star Fitness and Long Flat Store.
The Beechwood Store will have a merchandise stall with fresh daffodils for sale from 8am to 12 noon.
There will also be a raffle which will be drawn on the day.
Throughout the morning Cancer Council volunteers will be walking around town and driving to the many areas of our industrial estates selling merchandise and fesh daffodils.
Uniting those touched by cancer, Daffodil Day is the annual Cancer Council fundraising event giving hope to cancer patients, their family and friends.
Community Relations Coordinator at Cancer Council’s Mid North Coast regional office, Ted Greenwood is encouraging residents on the coast to get behind the initiative and paint the town yellow.
“Why not decorate your shop window with all things yellow, colour your hair, wear yellow nail polish or yellow clothes for a gold coin donation,” he said.
“Last year residents from the Mid North Coast raised over $110,000 from Daffodil Day and more than $3.5 million was raised in NSW.”
“This year we’re aiming to raise even more, and with your help we will be able to ease the burden that cancer imposes on people living on the Mid North Coast,” Mr Greenwood said.
