IT SEEMS nowhere is safe from thieves with yet another robbery in Wauchope.
This time Bennetts Steel located at in the Wauchope industrial area is the victim.
Last Wednesday night around midnight robbers broke into the Industry road complex and stole tools valued at more than $2000.
It was the second break in this month after thieves stole another toolbox valued at around $800 just three weeks ago.
The break in comes on the back of IGA King Creek owner Terry Burn’s call for a greater police presence in the community.
Twenty-two year old apprentice Chris Osbourne has been left tool-less thanks to the actions of the brazen thieves.
He has been forced to borrow tools from his workmates and has been left wondering how he will rebuild his toolbox.
"It's so annoying not having my tools,” he said.
“You can’t just replace them straight away it took me four years to get it to where it was.
“I just want to get my tools back and I urge anyone who knows anything to let us or the police know.
Among the items that were taken were the wheels for a trailer that the staff are building as a community project to help support those with breast cancer.
The thieves stole the trailer which includes specially ordered wheels for the Dragon Boat Club.
Onsite caretakers were woken as the thieves were leaving and believe they knew what they were after.
“They headed straight to the tools,” Tanya Newman said.
“There was plenty of other stuff around so it would seem they were after the tools from the start and knew they were there.
“The management and entire team at Bennetts can not express how disappointed we are.”
Bennetts Steel are offering a reward of $500 for information resulting in the return of the tools stolen or arrest of the offenders.
Police were been notified and fingerprints were taken.
Investigations are continuing.
