THIS is the second supplement leading up to Wauchope Bonny Hills Surf Life Saving Club’s 50th Birthday celebrations.
We named the two athletes we featured recently as Tom Mooney and Stephen Pead. We had several people made the correct contributions and they have won a lottery ticket. Well done.
Well who is going to name the people in this week’s photo?
This photo has been hanging in WBHSLSC Clubhouse for many years and has also featured in The Wauchope Gazette on occasions.
It was taken at the NSW State Surf Lifesaving Championships at Crescent Head in 1960. The BP Sportsman was our first ever Surf Boat.
Two of the people are Life Members of our club, another was considered to be perhaps the best ever lock forward to play for Rugby League for Wauchope. He represented North Coast against the Frenchmen and is a member of one of Wauchope’s oldest families.
The other boatrower was an Ex ST. George Rugby League first grade winger and Wauchope High School Teacher in 1960.
Now come on. Get those thinking caps on.
The big prize for the first correctly named answer with Peter Daniels at the Gazette could lead to a $100,000 or even $8,000,000 prize. The prize is in reality a two dollar Jackpot lottery ticket.
