TWO local Wauchope junior soccer players have qualified in the Northern NSW state 14’s girls squad recently.
Shannon Day and Danielle Burn are the latest of Wauchope’s female talent to make representative state level.
Shannon Day is 13 years old and has played all her soccer career in Wauchope and has been a member of the 13’s and 14’s football mid north coast development squad teams.
Day is currently a member of the Wauchope Saw millers 14’s squad that sits comfortably in second position in their competition.
Danielle Burn is 12 years old and has also played all her soccer career in Wauchope. She has previously represented north coast in PSSA soccer and is a member of last year’s Wauchope Public School team that reached the final four in Sydney.
Burn has been a member of the 11’s , 13’s and 14’s football mid north coast development squad teams.
The youngster is currently a member of the Wauchope 13’s Gumnuts who sit comfortably in first spot in their competition.
Both girls will represent football mid north coast 14’s girls in Tamworth before making the trip overnight to Lennox head for a week training camp with the northern NSW state 14’s girls squad.
Both girls will then represent the northern NSW state 14’s girls squad in Queensland in October.
In pre-selections both girls have completed camp in Armidale in January for 1 week, a three day camp in Armidale and a one day final selection trial in Coffs Harbour last month.
